weekly quiz Oct. 27, 2006

This is the link to this week’s quiz.

There is no uniform answer to last week’s finish-the-story quiz. Instead of an answer, I offer you a drawing of the wolf princess by Jordan S.

Jordan very obviously wasn’t paying attention in class while he drew this, which is why it is now in my possession.

libraries and I should be better friends

A couple of weeks ago, while trying to find books about the Mass Observation movement in Britain in the first half of the 20th century, I found this website (WorldCat.org) that connects the collections of hundreds of libraries all over the world. It’s great fun to search for a book and find out the closest one (of which the website is aware) is thousands of miles away.

I’ve also started using WorldCat and del.icio.us together to create a list of what I’ve been reading. I figured the sidebar had links to what I’ve been photographing, listening to, and looking at on the internet, it should probably also show what I’ve been reading. It’s a short list because I just started it, and decided to only go back as far as my recent move. I haven’t read much since moving.

p.s. Happy Birthday, Ryan W.!

Debauching Q. Tangoing

Remember this post? Well, even though I haven’t quite stopped–ah–developing content, I have stopped collecting “names” of spammers. Why? Because I finally found the spamfriend generator!

So you can, you know, develop your own–ah–content now, right?

new additions

There are some new additions to this recently mostly lifeless blog:

1) the link in the sidebar under “friends” called centaur highway. (you should go there, read, and follow the links!)

2) I’ve started writing a weekly quiz. It will be a weekly round-up of my life as a high school German teacher. Here’s a link to the first one (pdf document). I will post a link here every time I write a new once (once a week?!?).

Hopefully, #2 will inject some life back into this . . . this . . . this . . .
